Evangelina's priorities are:

  • Raising graduation rates ensure students have the resources they  
    need in order to graduate with options and choice for a solid future.
  • Creating school-to-career pathways that provide students with
    opportunities that lead to meaningful professions and engagement,
    making them stronger and vibrant.

Evangelina Sundgrenz believes public education is the single most effective equalizer in our nation. She will work hard to ensure all children deserve opportunity, choice, and success. District resources need thoughtful, informed stewardship for the best outcomes. Sundgrenz has the experience and qualifications required to be a successful school board member.

 

A Eugene resident for over a decade she is serving her second term on the 4J Budget Committee. She is a member of the 4J Vision 20/20 Strategic Planning Committee and has served on other 4J committees including the Superintendent Search Committee, the 4J Local Option Levy Steering Committee, and has volunteered in 4J schools and classrooms. She served the City of Eugene Financial Investigative Team.

 

She is a multilingual and multicultural communications professional who has managed programs in the for and not for profit sector, has been a political and community organizer, and  has advocated to expand childcare subsidy programs for the most vulnerable working families. Evangelina has been a passionate life-long advocate for public school education and early childhood education..

 

As a Peace Corps volunteer, she was a secondary school teacher in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.  In college, she was an AVID, Upward Bound, and migrant education  tutor.

 

Sundgrenz is the proud parent of a preschooler and has deep attachments and commitment to this community,  state, and to the future of our children and schools and has served on local and statewide boards with a focus on education, equality, and community building. These challenging times require a board member with experience, budgetary knowledge, and leadership skills. "Every child deserves a champion."
